Nike opens NikeFuel API to Developers

The FuelBand is getting into the platform game, Nike is opening it up to developers:

The new API can be used to enable all sorts of connectivity between iPhone apps and the FuelBand. One example would be the shuffle app that can be used to create radio stations based on where the user is located, the sound of the environment around them, weather, and how fast the user is moving.

I’m calling it now; wearable tech is this years hipster, and next years mainstream, top technology trend…(see also Google Glasses on famous faces.

Google+ and Google Enterprise

I’m interested to see whether Google will build the ability to follow Docs and other ‘non human’ Google App events into Google+:

We built Apps on the foundation of collaboration, and the sharing model is inherent in Docs. What’s coming next is a tighter alignment between contacts, Docs, Gmail, Hangouts, and Google+ streams.

Amit Singh, Head of Google Enterprise.

One of the features I like best about Salesforce Chatter is the ability to ‘follow’ events, workflows and other activities within an organisation; I’d love to see Google build similar functionality across their apps and services - and even open this Plus functionality up as a service for 3rd Party Apps to hook into.

Google’s Project Glass is ambitious, mind blowing and apparently real.

Square ‘Card Case' is now ‘Pay with Square'

Nice refinements to an already amazing payments experience.

And with 40,000 merchants already accepting Pay with Square, their ‘other’ payments solution is really starting to look quite interesting.

This project explores the invisible terrain of WiFi networks in urban spaces by light painting signal strength in long-exposure photographs. A four-metre long measuring rod with 80 points of light reveals cross-sections through WiFi networks using a photographic technique called light-painting.
